To start, Fire-Types are common and aren't very rare. In fact, they are the 8th most common, same as the Poison-Types. They are one of the three basic elemental types. There are 64 main pure Fire-Types. Some of these include Fennekin, Vulpix, Tepig, and Charmeleon. There are also half Fire-Types (Pokemon that have two elements and one element is Fire). Also, there are primary half-Types and secondary half-Types, but most primary half Fire-Types have Flying, Fighting, or Ground as their second element. FROAKIE FACT®: Did you know that there is only one Pokemon that has both Water and Fire elements? This particular Pokemon is a Volcanion. But Fire-Types can be very, very, strong. For example, Fire-Types like Mega Charizard EX do a lot of damage to other Pokemon that they battle against. Fire-Type moves are very effective (cause lots of damage) against Grass-, Metal-, and Ice-Type Pokemon. However, Fire-Type moves are not very effective against other Fire-, Water-, Rock-, and Dragon-Types. On the other hand, Fire-, Grass-, Ice, Metal-, and Fairy- Type moves are not very effective against Fire-Types, but Water-, Ground- and Rock-Types are very effective against Fire-Types.
